Meet me, Megan, a baker with a passion for family, sourdough, and the dream of a simpler, self-sufficient life. Country Roots in City Life Though I live in the city, I’m a country girl at heart. Spending my summers in a one-room log cabin that my grandfather built for my grandmother, surrounded by open fields and fresh air, I developed a love for the land and a desire for a simpler lifestyle. My family and I brought a bit of the countryside to the city, creating a small “city” homestead where we raise rabbits and chickens. It’s our little oasis amidst the urban hustle and bustle. Family: The Heart of the Operation At the core of my life is my beautiful family. My loving wife and our three wonderful children mean the world to me. Our oldest, who’s 16, often helps with the homestead chores and baking tasks. Meanwhile, our 2-year-old Gemini twins bring joy and energy to every day. We love hiking and getting out in nature whenever we can. Together, we dream of moving to a piece of land where we can raise more animals and live completely off the land. The Sourdough Revelation My baking adventure began in 2019 when I realized there had to be a better way to nourish my family. That’s when I discovered sourdough. It started with some frustrating failures with multiple sourdough starters, but I eventually got it! This ancient and natural method of baking bread opened up a world of possibilities and sparked a newfound passion for creating wholesome, delicious foods. The Birth of Gemini Twins Bakery After years of experimenting, learning, and perfecting recipes, Gemini Twins Bakery was born. The name reflects the dual aspects of our operation: a blend of family love and culinary passion.
